Improving Writing Using Maths Journals

This PEN reflects on the ways in which journal-writing associated with mathematics activities was able to develop language skills in a 3/4 class containing many boys who were low achievers in language. The writer shows how the purposeful context provided by mathematics can aid the development of structure, spelling, grammar and handwriting.
