Using Rubrics to Enhance Student Learning and Self-Assessment

Used well, a rubric can enhance instruction, guide learning and be a powerful self-assessment tool. To be most useful, not only is the design of the rubric important but the design of the task to which it is applied. This PEN shows that rubrics, if well designed, are a useful tool to enhance learning and assessment.
