Reading Multimodal Texts

This PEN describes an approach for talking and teaching about multimodal texts. The writer identifies a framework to use and a language to talk about how meaning is built in multimodal texts. The second half of the PEN models how critical features of multimodal texts can be identified, so that teachers can explicitly teach about those features in the classroom. Plenty of strategies are provided for teaching about multimodal texts.
